Do I still need to maintain FileOpen?
Answered By: Alex McIlroy Last Updated: Jan 27, 2016 Views: 9
FileOpen is the electronic delivery method used by the British Library to supply secure, encrypted documents. FileOpen was used up until January 2016, when the Library switched to the new method of the British Library Digital Rights Management Lite.
If you have downloaded and saved articles before the January 2016 switch-over, and you still wish to access these articles, you will need to maintain FileOpen on the machine that the document was originally downloaded on. You are allowed 3 years access from the point of downloading and saving the article.
