Special Collections & Archives hold 11 letters from C.S. Lewis to Captain Bernard Acworth, written between 1944 and 1960. In response to Acworth’s views on the incompatibility of evolution and Christianity, Lewis explains his own views on the question of origins. A listing for the Lewis Correspondence (MS56) is available online.
In a separate collection, MS1/247 (Miscellaneous Manuscripts), we have a letter from C.S. Lewis to Anne Waller in which Lewis addresses the 9 year old’s question regarding the meaning of the death of Aslan in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
