A manuscript is usually a document written by hand, it may be decorated, include illustrations, diagrams, music or text. It could also be an author’s original typed version of a book or article. A manuscript collection might comprise a set of letters, diaries, essays or sheet music. Listings for our manuscript collections are available on our Manuscripts web page.
