In the QCat Library Catalogue, what does the status ‘IN USE - PLEASE REQUEST’ mean?

IN USE - PLEASE REQUEST will appear next to an item record on the Library Catalogue when the item has been requested by another user, and is being kept aside in the McClay, Medical or Biomedical Library for the user to collect.

Once the other user has collected the book, its status will change to DUE [+ a date] in the catalogue, at which stage you can request the book for yourself (as long as it's the only available copy).

If the status of the book subsequently changes to Check Shelf, that means the other user hasn't collected the book, and it has been returned to the shelf, which indicates that you can borrow it yourself.
