How do I add book details to RefWorks?

If the book is in the QCat Library Catalogue...

You can export the book details directly from QCat into your RefWorks account: here's how.

If the book is not in the QCat Library Catalogue...

Rather than adding the book details manually to your RefWorks account, you can use RefWorks to try to search various non-Queen's library catalogues for the book. To do this:

  • In RefWorks, hover over Search, then click Online Catalog or Database.

  • Search Online Catalog or Database box opens - choose COPAC or British Library as the Search option. Use Quick Search to look for the book title, and Advanced Search to look for a combination of book title and author etc. Click Search.

  • If the book is indexed in COPAC or the British Library, it will appear in the list of results. To add book details to your account, tick it and either click Import to add book to your RefWorks Last Imported Folder, or send it to another RefWorks folder (as well as the Last Imported Folder) by using the Import to Folder option.
