My hold is ready to collect. What do I do?

The McClay Library

  • Go to the self-service collection point or holds shelf in the Library. This is located in the short loan area on the ground floor in The McClay Library.
  • Your hold or reservation is shelved under the first 3 letters of your surname and the last 4 digits of your borrower number.
  • Check it is the correct item.
  • Use the self-service machines to issue the item to yourself before leaving the short loan area of the Library.

The Biomedical Library

  • Go to the self-service collection point or holds shelf in the Library. This is located opposite the Borrower Services Desk in the Biomedical Library.
  • Your hold or reservation is shelved under the first 3 letters of your surname and the last 4 digits of your borrower number.
  • Check it is the correct item.
  • Use the self-service machine at the Borrower Services Desk to issue the item to yourself before leaving the Library.

The Medical Library

  • Go to the Borrower Services Desk in the Medical Library.
  • Inform a member of staff that you have a hold or reservation that is ready to collect.
  • Once the item is located on the hold shelf, library staff will issue the item to you.
