What version of RefWorks should I use?

Please note: the Library will be cancelling its RefWorks subscription at the end of December 2020. RefWorks users should switch to using another reference management tool such as EndNote or Mendeley.

There are currently 2 versions of RefWorks: Legacy RefWorks and New (ProQuest) RefWorks.

If students or staff wish to use RefWorks, the Library recommends that they use Legacy RefWorks, as it is a more stable product than New RefWorks.

When importing references from the Library Catalogue and other sources, you may be presented with an option to choose between 2 versions of RefWorks - "ProQuest RefWorks" (the new version) and "RefWorks" (the legacy version). Choose the Legacy option to add references to the older version of RefWorks.
