To access the database of readings that may be added to Canvas, click the link at the end of this answer and log in using your Queen’s credentials. (Only staff log-ins will work. Students may not use the database; they should access any readings that are recommended to them via Canvas.)

The module code should then be typed into the search box.

On clicking search, a list of readings will appear. These can be added to Canvas by selecting and copying the table and then pasting it into the Recommended Readings section of the relevant module.

Once the readings are in Canvas, they can be edited or deleted as you wish.

To have readings added to the database, please contact your Subject Librarian: https://www.qub.ac.uk/directorates/InformationServices/TheLibrary/contacts/SubjectLibrarians/

When requesting readings for scanning, please provide your Subject Librarian with as much of the information below about each of the readings:

  • Module/Course Code
  • Book/Journal ISBN
  • Book/Journal Title
  • Book/Journal author
  • Chapter/Extract Title
  • Extract Author
  • Issue
  • Volume
  • Page From
  • Page To
  • Publication Year
  • Publisher
  • Reading Type Book or Journal article
  • Place of Publication

All other questions about using, or adding content to, Canvas should be directed to Canvas Support: https://blogs.qub.ac.uk/digitallearning/need-help/
