You will see the message "Request was not submitted: This function is not available to you. Please see a librarian" if:

  • you have tried placing an online inter-library loan request within a database or other library resource
  • and you are an undergraduate (UG) or a postgraduate taught (PGT) student

Only postgraduate research students and QUB staff may place online ILL requests via databases or other library resources.

If you are an UG or PGT student, you may still place online ILL requests, but you must click the Inter-Library Loan Request link on the Library homepage's Quick Links Menu, and follow the links through to the relevant request form, which requires you to enter the details of your supervisor so that they can approve your ILL request.

If you have any questions about ILLs, please click the link at the end of this answer for the relevant contact details.
