Why do I see Scopus Preview off campus?
Scopus Preview allows non-subscribed users to use free features on Scopus.
If you are seeing Scopus Preview it means that Scopus is not recognising that you are accessing from Queen’s University Belfast.
This can happen if you have been using the same browser for some time and have not recently logged into Scopus.
You need to enter your QUB login credentials again on Scopus in a new browser.
To resolve the issue, clear your browser cache and start a new session.
If you are not being prompted to login with your QUB credentials after clearing browser cache then cache has been cleared for a period, you need to clear cache for 'All time'.
Alternatively, switch browsers.
Start a new session in a browser you don’t normally use like Firefox Incognito or Opera
and use either of the below URLs which will display QUB login screen
or
https://qub.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.scopus.com/
When you login with your QUB email and regular QUB password you will see ‘Brought to you by QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY BELFAST’ on top left of Scopus page.
If you have created an account on Scopus, please make sure you have already authenticated to Scopus and used your QUB email to associate the account with 'Queen's University Belfast'. You only need to create an account to access personalised features i.e., saved searches, alerts, lists of results. You do not need to create an account to access University subscription content.
If you are accessing article URLs from a Scopus email alert, make sure that you are already authenticated with your QUB login credentials to the Scopus platform in the same browser to gain full text access.
We do not have full text access to all content hosted on Scopus platform.
We have access to University subscriptions and Open Access on Scopus only.
If you are still having problems on Scopus, please email eresources
