Web of Science Core Collection now features an AI-powered Smart Search tool that might be switched on, depending on how you access, or navigate within, the database.

It is recommended that Smart Search is not used, in order for rigorous, controllable, and reproducible literature searches to be run in Web of Science Core Collection.

Always ensure that you are searching the database using Advanced/Documents Search (this should be the default search setting when Web of Science Core Collection is accessed via the Library's Databases A-to-Z: https://libguides.qub.ac.uk/az/databases?a=w).

You might also consider switching off Smart Search, to reduce the visibility of this tool.

To switch off Smart Search, click on the Smart Search toggle so that it is greyed out.
