How long does it take for returned items to be put back on the shelves?

Once returned On way to shelves will appear next to an item record on the Library Catalogue. The time taken to reach the shelves is different in each library branch.

McClay Library

Short loan items will be back on the shelves within 1 hour of being returned.

Standard loan items will be re-shelved within 2 hours of being returned.

Re-shelving times will vary according to peak times and holidays.

Biomedical Library

Returned items are shelved once a day. However, you can borrow from the re-shelving  trolley at any time.

Short loan books are re-shelved immediately.

Medical Library

Returned items are shelved three times a day. Standard loan items and one week items will be back on the shelf within two hours.

Re-shelving times will vary in accordance to peak times and holidays.
