When you borrow an item from the short loan section of the Library, you should always pay attention to the date by which the item needs to be returned. Short loan items in the Biomedical Library are issued by library staff and you should be informed about the due date of the item. If you are using the self-service machines in The McClay Library to issue your short loan item, you should keep the receipt as it contains the same important information.

The Biomedical Library only has 2 night loans in their short loan collection while The McClay Library has 2 night loans and 7 night loans as part of their short loan collection and a small non-loanable reference collection.

The McClay Library and Biomedical Library have 1 night loan DVDs available.

All short loans items are fined at a rate of £2.50 per item per day when overdue.

Students who have registered with Disability Services automatically get an extra day on 1 night and 2 night loans. The return date on your library account and on the receipt have already be adjusted accordingly and you should not add any more time onto your loan period. The same facility does not apply to 7 night loan or standard loan items.
