Why should I use Pure?

Pure provides a single location for you to store information about your research, such as your publications, collaborations, research projects and grants and the associations between them. Pure is designed to make it as easy as possible to keep information about your own research up-to-date, providing ongoing visibility of research activities at the University. Having been entered into Pure once, data is used for a variety of purposes, including:

  • maintaining personal and school research profiles on the QUB Research Portal website and School webpages

  • maintaining personal research profiles for the Academic CV, principally in relation to research outputs and activities (measures of esteem)

  • depositing electronic copies of research outputs in the University’s Institutional Repository (QUB Research Portal) and creating a comprehensive and straightforward means of enabling open access to publications

  • creating an experts' database that can be interrogated for information to support both internal and external collaboration

  • preparing bibliographies and CVs for grant proposals

  • preparing and making data submissions in support of the requirements of the Open Access Policy for REF2021, and the requirements of other statutory research audits

If you any questions about Pure, please email or telephone 028 9097 1139/2581.
