What is meant by embargo period?

In the Green Open Access route some publishers require an embargo on the accepted manuscript version. For example, they may allow the manuscript to be stored in an institutional repository, but only made open access 12 months after publication.

When you deposit your article into the Queen’s Research Portal, Library staff will check the publisher’s requirements for embargoes and other copyright restrictions for you. For more information on embargoes and choosing the right journal for you, check out the Library blog.
