What are Reference books?

Some books within the library cannot be borrowed (usually dictionaries, encyclopaedias etc.).  These types of books tend to be used for checking information rather than for reading cover to cover - hence they are kept in the library.  To ensure access some heavily used books in Short Loan may also be Reference.
